Ensa studies a fuel pool liner repair technology in nuclear power plants

This R & D project has been carried out through a grant of the INNOVA 2017 line granted by the Council of Innovation, Industry, Tourism and Commerce of the Government of Cantabria

Maliaño, May the 7th, 2019.- Equipos Nucleares S.A., S.M.E , is developing, within its R & D program, a new technology based on approved adhesives to work in the spent fuel pools of nuclear power plants.

Reliable and safe solution

This solution will facilitate the repair of any possible leakage of water in the liner of the pool, in a reliable and safe way, in addition to presenting itself as very competitive against the solution of repair by welding.

This technology is a great complement to the activities already carried out by the state company located in Maliaño, since in addition to the repair indicated above, it could be applied to other repairs, such as pipes without cutting and welding, plugging pipes in decommissioning operations, the lining of buildings and other uses that will be worked on during this development.

These works are being carried out with the collaboration of the Technological Center of Components.

«This company has received a grant co-financed by the European regional development fund through the operational program FERDER 2014-2020 of Cantabria through the INNOVA 2017 subsidies line».
