Maliaño, March 15, 2019.- Equipos Nucleares, SA, SME (Ensa) has completed the manufacture of all the coupons for the final tests of the European project COROMA (Cognitively Enhaced Robot For Flexible Manufacturing of Metal and Composite Parts).

The last pending component, a rack base, joins the MMC tubes and handhole mock-ups, finished some time ago. The rack base and the MMC tubes will be used for grinding tests, while the hand holes mock-up will be used for UTs tests.

The final tests on the components supplied by Ensa will be developed in the second half of this year and they will be able to assess the final quality of the work carried out during the three years of the project.

The COROMA project, whose objective is to develop a modular and advanced robotic system capable of executing multiple types of tasks in the field of metal parts and composite materials manufacturing, aims to strengthen the global position of the European manufacturing industry and contribute to technological development of Industry 4.0 in the field of manufacturing and robotics.

This Project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 723853
